The past few weeks have been a bit of a blur and unfortunately my health has taken a bit of a toll, so I’ve been off trying to rest as much as I can. It’s truly amazing what some rest can do for you, and I’m grateful to be back on my way to being my fully rejuvenated self soon!

But, that isn’t what I wanted to talk about today – this post is about Toronto, quite possibly my favourite city on the planet! I had the pleasure to visit TO again a couple of weeks ago for work, and though it was a quick trip and I wish I could’ve stayed for longer, I managed to squeeze in as many of my Toronto favourites as possible.

Eaton Centre, Nathan Phillips Square, and Yonge-Dundas Square

I was very lucky to be staying near the hub of everything with a beautiful room overlooking Nathan Phillips Square! This is one of my favourite spots in the city because I feel like it really captures the hub of Toronto – if the large lettered sign didn’t already do it for you. I loved checking out the square, which is always bustling with people, and of course, nearby Eaton Centre is always a must-see. I even got the chance to get my name on a billboard in Yonge-Dundas square, which was amazing! The only thing Eaton Centre was missing was the massive Christmas tree and holiday lights that come during the holiday season – but who knows, maybe that will be on my Christmas wish list this year 😉

Donalda Club

I had the chance to explore a bit outside of the downtown core as well with a trip to the exquisite Donalda Club. This golf and country club is situated on a beautiful golf course in one of the areas of Toronto I used to frequent quite a bit when I lived there. It was incredible, very serene and perfect to visit in this lovely fall weather. It was so nice to be back in a familiar hood, and taking in all of the spectacular fall colours while driving along the DVP was truly something!

Downtown Toronto

Of course, no trip to Toronto would be complete without exploring the downtown core. I haven’t walked around exploring that much in quite some time, and it was so nice to see the city! From wandering the shops on Queen Street West, to exploring quaint boutiques in Kensington Market, to taking in the incredible artwork on Graffiti Alley, to finding the hot spots (and lesser know but equally exciting) places to eat and grab a drink… I truly love this city. There’s always something new and unique to find just around the corner – for instance, I stumbled across a free music festival one night, which was so great to experience! The incredible backdrop of the stunning tower in the background didn’t hurt, either.

CN Tower

Speaking of which… I FINALLY made it up the CN Tower! After living in Toronto for a few months last year and returning again this past spring, I couldn’t believe I hadn’t made it to the top yet. I vowed to myself that this time I would definitely make it up, and I’m so glad I did! The tower is such an incredible landmark, and to be at the top of it is truly amazing. The views did not disappoint, and you can really see how expansive the city is. It was an experience I definitely won’t forget, and if you’re looking for something to give you a pump of adrenaline, I would recommend doing the Edge Walk on the side of the Tower. I’m definitely not brave enough to do it, but if you’re seeking that thrill and extra wow factor, this would definitely be it!

Apart from checking out the sites, I spent a lot of time wandering around the city and reconnecting with friends. Toronto truly is one of my favourite places to be – in one of my favourite seasons as well! – and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to visit again, and hopefully I’ll be able to return in the spring. For now, #chiaratakestoronto is going to take a bit of a back seat, and it’s back to exploring UBC and Vancouver for a bit – plus, I’ve got another trip coming up in the next couple of weeks!
