Starting 2020 Off With a Bang: Balance, Snow, and Upcoming Adventures

Happy 2020 everyone! We are well under way into the first month of a new year and a new decade. I don’t know about you, but it sure has been a hell of a busy few weeks to start this year off.

It was really nice to take some time off and relax over the holidays. Coming back to Vancouver and going back to work, I jumped right in to the swing of things again. Work is coming at full force, as we are heading in to one of the busiest times of the year. It is a bit overwhelming for me at this time, but also very exciting. It will be interesting to see how the next few months play out.

Right now, I’ve been trying to focus on establishing and maintaining a routine that will allow for self-care and well-roundedness. Creating a routine has definitely been a bit bumpy so far because there has been quite a bit on my plate with work, but I am trying not to focus too much on work and allow time for other things as well. I have been attempting to carve out this time. Taking a dance class with my roommate, going out with friends, spending time with two of my good friends before they leave the country for school commitments, and creating a healthy living space are all tasks I’ve been focusing on these past few weeks. I am trying my best to balance it all, and that is all that we can do!

In other news, we also recently got hit with a bunch of snow in Vancouver. All of my fellow Lower Mainland friends know this hardly ever happens, and when it does, the entire city practically shuts down. We did get a snow day, which allowed me to catch up on some work which was great. Going for a walk in the snow was also nice and refreshing! But, I’m about ready for the snow to melt now so Vancouver, and all of its Vancouverites, can get back to our normal – complaining about the rain 😉

With that said, I haven’t left winter behind completely just yet, as I am currently heading up to the Okanagan for another visit with family and friends. There’s definitely a lot of snow up this way, and I’m happy to spend some time in a place where they actually know how to deal with the snow. Staying in multiple places that have hot tubs doesn’t hurt, either 😉

I hope everyone has had a good start to 2020. I’m looking forward to many more exciting things to come this year, and hopefully some great trips are in the books! Stay tuned, and make sure to visit my Instagram and Facebook for the most recent updates 🙂
