Okanagan Summer Recap

My summer has been absolutely wild – I can’t believe it’s already September!! Having been in Toronto last summer, it was a really big difference to be in the Okanagan this time around. Though it may have had its ups and downs, there was definitely a ton of highlights this summer. I’m doing a full deep-dive to recap it all! Read the full blog to dive in to my Okanagan Summer recap.

June

Summer has been craz-ay! I relocated closer to Vernon to do some work in events up this way in the Okanagan, which brought many other experiences my way. June was quite busy: I wrapped up celebrating my one-year anniversary of my book and dove into my other work shortly after. In mid-June, I took my epic road trip out to the rockies – read the full details about my awesome road trip here. A week later, I travelled to Prince George to spend some time with family. It was somewhat warm up there, but definitely felt cooler than the Okanagan. Safe to say, it didn’t feel like that hot Okanagan summer for awhile.

July

July came flying in at full force. I was very busy with a work event and unfortunately didn’t have time to enjoy much else in July. With the limited time I did have, I started attending the Armstrong Farmer’s Market as a vendor. I actually really enjoyed it and found it to be a lot of fun! Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area 🙂 I finished off July with a weekend away in Nelson, where I was able to spend some much-needed time working on editing my second book. You can read all of the details about that writing weekend here.

August

Soon, August was on our doorsteps. Summer had been going by so fast and I was determined to get some of it back! I was able to squeeze in more time doing summer activities like going to the beach, hanging out with friends, and attending fun markets and events. Some highlights include browsing the Summer Love market at CC Bloom, enjoying ice cream at Davison Orchards, and the IPE Fair in Armstrong during labour day weekend! Of course, beach days and mini hikes were had too. I’m glad I was able to squeeze a little bit more fun out of summer before we hit September. Now, here we are!

Towards Fall…

I’m hopeful that it will still be nice out for at least a few weeks this September, but I know fall will be upon us sooner than we think. Until then, I’ll be soaking up those last few moments of sunshine! Tell me: how was your summer?? Did you get to do everything you wanted? Let me know in the comments! 😀
