Fall Book Events as a Poetry Author

It has been quite the fall so far! I’ve jam-packed my schedule with a ton of events this fall to connect with all of you in the Okanagan. Since attending my first writing conference at the end of September, I’ve had book events almost every weekend! In this blog post, we’re going to fully dive in to all of those events and what’s left to come this fall. Read on for all of my fall book events as a poetry author.

Book Signing

I kicked off my book events this fall with my final book signing of the year at Indigo Kelowna. I’ve been very lucky to have done multiple book signings at Indigo Kelowna throughout 2024 – up to 7 total! They have all been so wonderful, and our October signing was no exception. I love connecting with all of the folks that come in and getting to chat about my book. Though we are pausing signings for now until 2025, I’m still super grateful for all of the support I’ve received from the Indigo Kelowna team! They still have copies of Blooming in stock in store. If you’re looking for a copy, make sure to swing by Indigo Kelowna to get yours.

Book Readings

For the remainder of the month, I’ve had the opportunity to host multiple book readings at local branches of the Okanagan Regional Library. I was very excited to have the chance to connect with people in some of the smaller communities. Plus, Blooming has recently been stocked in the library, so you can request to sign out a copy at your local branch ♥ During Thanksgiving weekend, I hosted a reading at the Oliver branch. A lovely guest purchased a copy to be stocked specifically at that location. For Oliver locals, you can now sign out a copy of Blooming from your local library at any time! As someone who grew up in Oliver and was frequently at the library signing out books, having my own book in that same library is truly special. ♥♥

Next up for signing locations was Vernon. I was very excited to be reading at the Vernon branch because I had heard many wonderful things about their events. At this particular reading, I also got to meet a fellow author, Keri. Her book was recently published and I had the opportunity to provide a testimonial for her! It was so wonderful to be able to meet in person and share our publishing/author journeys with one another. Keri stayed for the reading which was so much fun. I’m infinitely grateful for all of the connections I’ve been able to make throughout this journey, and a big shoutout to TSPA for connecting us!

Most recently, I hosted a book reading at the Summerland branch. This was another location I was very excited about because they host a lot of events here, and their branch is absolutely beautiful. I was welcomed by the sweetest team, including one of the librarians who is a fellow writer I connected with online. I love bringing virtual connections in-person! They provided tea and cookies for the reading, super cute. I was joined by some lovely ladies who brought their knitting to work on throughout my reading. It was so fun! I am so grateful to the Okanagan Regional Library for being so supportive of local authors and my book readings this fall.

Upcoming Events

I’ve got one final book event coming up this fall: a book signing taking place in Penticton NEXT weekend! I’ll be at Coles Penticton, located in the Cherry Lane Mall, on Saturday November 9, from 11:00am-4:00pm. This will be my first time doing a book signing in Penticton, and I’m super excited about it! Make sure to swing by THIS Saturday if you’re in the area. I will have plenty of copies of Blooming available for purchase – perfect for some early holiday shopping 😉

If you haven’t had the chance to make it out and connect with me in-person, then I’ve got some exciting news for you. Throughout the month of November, I will be running a SALE on copies of Blooming! Since November is my birthday month and we’re getting closer to the holidays, I like to run a sale during this time of year. It is only available on my website by using code BDAY to get 28% off your purchase! Visit my shop now and snag your copy at the discounted rate.

It has been a great fall so far. I’m really looking forward to the next few weeks as well. Pretty soon, we will be in full-on holiday season come December – I can’t wait! Hope to see you out and about at the book signing next weekend, or online! Make sure to follow me on Instagram for the latest updates. Don’t forget to join my email list for exclusive updates about my second book, coming your way soon. ♥
