And just like that, Launch Month is Over

February was a busy and emotional month. It’s hard to pour your heart and soul into something, and not know how it will be received. Well, February was the month where all of that hard work came to fruition. From an exciting in-person launch in Kelowna to our Amazon launch this past weekend, it’s certainly been a ride – and just like that, it’s over. Today on the blog we’ll be recapping the highs and lows of launch month for my second book – read on for the rollercoaster ride.

In-person launch

Earlier in February, we had an exciting in-person launch in Kelowna, BC. Thank you to everyone who came out in-person, it truly means the world! Our previous blog post has a full recap of the adventures we had. There are moments that make this ride all worthwhile… And so many of them happened during these events.

A conversation with a stranger, who might want to create their own book or is navigating their own emotions, and suddenly a connection is born. And you aren’t strangers anymore. Family and friends, who change plans and trek through bad weather just to show up and support you. They might not get all of it, but they know it’s important to you, and sometimes that’s enough. I am so very grateful for it all. Thank you. ❤

Amazon launch

This past weekend, No More Second Chances went live on Amazon. I was very nervous about this launch initially, but it wound up going quite well. We managed to hit #2 on the bestseller list in Poetry for Young Adults, and #4 in the bestseller list in Canadian Poetry. And, a big moment for us, we hit the #1 Hot New Release in both of these categories for multiple days over the weekend! WHEW!! 🤩

This is all thanks to YOU. Those who purchased, those who left a review, those who simply sent good vibes… without you, this wouldn’t have happened. One of my favourite parts is the reviews – they are another aspect that makes everything worthwhile. Reading a heartfelt review that highlights how they connected to what you wrote is… something. Something I didn’t think would be possible, when it was just me going through it alone. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤

And just like that…. What now?

Now it’s over. It’s hard to believe, after years of creating something, that a month of celebrating that accomplishment has come to an end. This isn’t really the end, though – I’m hopeful it is just the beginning. No More Second Chances is now available on Amazon worldwide. I’m looking towards distributing the book across various bookstores around the country. I’m considering planning more events such as book signings and readings, and will let you know if any come to fruition.

My hope is that the impact of NMSC will be far-reaching, in the near future and for years to come. I am honoured by those who choose to share in the journey with me, and allow NMSC to be a part of your own healing journey. For me, healing is a continual process, but these moments of connection and care and love truly mean everything. I hope they matter to you, too. All of my love, C. ❤
