February has been a VERY busy and exciting month so far. One of the biggest reasons Feb is so exciting is because I get to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the release of my book, No More Second Chances! 😍 Releasing a second book has been really fun. It fills me with pride to look back on the highlights this past year. Read on for a full recap of NMSC’s first year!
Initial Launch
Let’s take it back to the beginning, one year ago, with the launch of NMSC in Kelowna, BC. I hosted a signing at Indigo Kelowna during the day and had a soiree in the evening in downtown Kelowna. The soiree featured a poetry reading, goodies, kombucha, and roses everywhere. It was the perfect way to celebrate NMSC’s release! Highlights from the year
Since launching a year ago, I’ve been attending many book signings and connecting with countless people in BC and ON. Here are some of the highlights:
- Hosted 10 book signings in 2025 outside of launch events, plus another 2 these past couple of months – wrapping up the first year with a total of 12 book signings 📚
- Attended TSPA‘s Publishing Conference hosted in North Vancouver, BC and had the opportunity to connect with many lovely authors and industry professionals 🤝
- Attended over a dozen literary events in Toronto, ON this past year and connected with the book community 🎤
- Announced as a finalist for The Canadian Book Club Awards in November 2025 ⭐
- Connected with countless readers and community members 💕
Last but not least, we got MAJOR news this past week for No More Second Chances. In November 2025, NMSC was announced as a Poetry Finalist for the Canadian Book Club Awards. The winners were announced this past week, and I am VERY excited to share: NMSC was named the 2025 Poetry Winner!!! 😍 It is such an honour for me to have received this award, which is voted on by readers. My biggest dream is that my books resonate with those who read them, and I’m overjoyed that readers feel this way with NMSC. Thank you to all who voted, I am so grateful!! Time to celebrate!
Taking allll of these moments as a big win, I really leaned in to celebrating the 1-year anniversary this past weekend. On Saturday, I returned to Indigo Sherway Gardens for another book signing. It was a lot of fun and a great way to connect with community. On Sunday, I hosted a get-together for friends to gather and celebrate together. Similar to the launch party, we had many goodies, candles, flowers, and a whole lotta red. I am so very grateful to have spent time this weekend with those who enjoy NMSC as much as I do!
I’ve been enjoying the ride as an author of two books, and I know it’s only going to get better from here. Having BOTH of my books be award winners is the icing on the cake!! I cannot wait to see where the journey takes me next. THANK YOU for all of your support for book 2!! All of my love ❤️
