Coping with COVID-19: An Update

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well! In my last post, I celebrated four years here at chiaragoesglobal. Thank you again for continuing to support me over the years, and welcome if you are new here! Today, I was hoping I would be able to write and provide you all with an update as to how things are going here in Vancouver. However, I do not have much new to share, as things have still been pretty locked down here for social distancing reasons.

About a month ago, I wrote about how I had been coping with the recent changes due to COVID-19. Though nearly a month has gone by, I am in much the same position now as I was then: continuing to work from home, trying to go for walks to keep my sanity in check, and connecting with family and friends, primarily virtually. I am also continuing to try my best to ease stress and anxiety by limiting time on social media and other media outlets and making the time to foster connection instead.

The good news is that the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer, and we have almost reached the end of this. In Vancouver and throughout BC they are going to begin to slowly open things up again throughout the rest of the month, which is something I am really looking forward to. Though this re-adjustment is going to be a very slow process, I am excited that it is at least getting started.

Being in isolation for so long is something that has been very difficult for me. I have now been working from home for almost two months, and within that time period, I had a major move and winded up living alone for the majority of the time. Being in isolation during a global pandemic has definitely been taking its toll on me and impacting my mental health. As someone who also really enjoys exploring and being on the move frequently, it is extremely difficult to be holed up in the house and not able to take part in that exploration. I know I am not the only one feeling this way, and I take comfort knowing we are all in this together and we will make it out of this soon.

To try and continue to stay in good spirits, I have been compiling a list of the things I want to do once this is all over and we are able to get back out in the world and adventure again. Taking a trip and exploring somewhere new are definitely at the top of my list, but until that is able to happen again, I am looking forward to simply being able to explore around Vancouver again. Taking in the sites, a movie, dining out at a restaurant, all of these little things that we often take for granted are all things that I cannot wait to fully experience again. Most of all, though, I am eagerly anticipating the day when we can all get together and hug our loved ones. I am hopeful that this day will come sooner rather than later.

How are you handling getting through these times? What are the top things on your list to do once this is over? Let me know in the comments. Sending love and health to all of you, and hoping to see some of you in person very soon! <3
