Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s already 2025? The holidays simultaneously felt like they were moving at a turtle speed, while also passing in the blink of an eye. We’re already into January now, the time of new year’s resolutions and fresh beginnings. For me, I’m viewing 2025 as the year of no more second chances. Want to know why? Read on. 😉
First, a quick look back at this holiday season. As I mentioned before taking some time off, I was looking forward to cozy nights in, holiday movies, winter walks, and connecting with loved ones. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a snowy Christmas this year, but snow came a few times on other days which gave the opportunity for winter walks aplenty. Cozy nights in and holiday movies were a bit sparse this time around. However, our Christmas was very busy with a lot of holiday gatherings and time with loved ones. Though it felt overwhelming at times, I’m still grateful for the opportunity to be all together. Considering I’ll be heading out to Toronto very soon, I’m grateful for these moments!

After the initial rush of the holidays died down, I had the opportunity to slow down a bit more and think about what’s to come. I spent a lot of time reflecting on the past year and recognized how it was filled with creativity and connection, two things I am very grateful for. These are two aspects that I’m hoping will continue in 2025. Though the year was up and down a bit, I’m thankful for the time I was able to spend in the Okanagan pursuing these areas in 2024. As I move forward in 2025, I’m looking towards a more balanced and settled year. I’ll be moving back to Toronto to return to my career role and I’m hopeful for the steadiness and stability it will bring.
With that said, there are many other aspects of the year I’m looking forward to as well. Instead of doing resolutions or a vision board this year, I decided to make a bingo card for 2025 (shoutout to the TikTok girlies for the idea!). I actually had so much fun making it! My bingo card includes a blend of some bigger goals, monthly ideas, and fun activities. Some of my favourite things on my card include going to a concert, monthly nature walks, and starting a new creative hobby. It’s made me very excited for many different areas of my life this year, and I am optimistic of what’s to come!

Of course, all of this excitement and intention-setting for the year culminated in New Year’s Eve. Typically, I like to celebrate New Year’s Eve as a solo activity after doing lots of reflecting and imagining for the new year. This year, I spent some time with family earlier in the night, with a cheese fondue and a round of scrabble. Then I went home, to complete my new year dreaming before watching the ball drop. It was a pretty spectacular start to 2025.
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering why I’m referring to 2025 as the year of no more second chances. For one, I’m really wanting to focus on unapologetic energy this year. I don’t want to be apologizing for myself, and I definitely don’t want to be giving out second chances to those who don’t deserve it. That brings me to my second point: no more second chances is actually the title of my second book, coming out THIS February!! 😀 Not only is this the type of energy I want to embody this year, it’s also going to be a time of focusing on my second book once it’s released. That is something I really want to celebrate, and hope you will too! I’ll be sharing more details about the upcoming February launch soon, but for now, hold on to this energy and know it’s the vibe moving forward ✨

So far, I have a really good feeling about 2025 and the unapologetic energy it’s bringing. It definitely feels like the year of no more second chances for me, and I hope you’ll join me for the ride. Looking forward to sharing more with you soon! ❤
