Phew, does anyone else feel like summer is absolutely *flying* by?!? It’s been a minute since I’ve written on the blog and I wanted to take this time to highlight some summer moments, particularly as an author in Toronto. Since launching my second book while living in Toronto, I’ve had a lot of fun events happening as an author. This summer in particular has been a busy events season! Let’s take a deep dive into what I’ve been up to in my author life in Toronto this summer.
First Few Months after Launch
To start, launching NMSC in February was a blast. You can read the full breakdown of launch activities here. March was quite slow as I was getting adjusted to Toronto life. For most of April, I was travelling for work. But once we hit May, I was ready to dive in to some author events. My first Toronto book signing took place at Indigo Yonge + Eglinton in mid-May. It was a great start, and from there, I got busy with putting together events for the summer!

June + July events
We kicked more events off in June with a signing at Indigo The Well, one of the newest locations in Toronto. Their space is fantastic, and it has been one of my favourite signings to date! In July, I had 2 book signings. The first was at the lovely indie bookstore Hopeless Romantic Books, a super cute romance bookstore in Stackt Market. It was a blast being there! My next July signing was at Indigo Eaton Centre. This one was a big deal to me, as Eaton Centre is one of the largest and well-known Indigo locations in the country. It was truly incredible to have this experience!

August events
August came upon us very quickly, and with it, another 2 book signings. I ventured out west to Indigo Sherway Gardens for a signing in mid-August. The mall is stunning, the location was beautiful, and they were super welcoming! I hope to come back soon. This past weekend, I had my latest book signing at Coles Eglinton Square in Scarborough. It was really fun to be in the east end of the city and connect with the community there. Despite the trek out to both far ends of the city for me, I felt it was so worthwhile to visit these different areas! I’ve enjoyed my time in both, connecting with wonderful people.

September and beyond…
But, the summer isn’t over yet. If you couldn’t tell, I’m desperately trying to hang on to the last few moments of summer!! Though it is *already* September next week, I have one last book signing at Coles in the Beaches. This signing will take place on September 6 from 12-4pm, so if you’re in the area, make sure to swing by! 🙂 It has been such a blast at these book signings, celebrating NMSC and connecting with people all across the city. I have truly enjoyed every second. Though I may be taking a bit of a break the next couple of months, I will be looking forward to resuming events in late fall.

It may be challenging to be an author trying to find her way, but moments like these remind me that the journey is worthwhile. Thank you to everyone who has connected with me at one or more of these events. It truly means the world to me! To stay updated on other upcoming events, make sure to subscribe to my email list. Enjoy the last couple of weeks of SUMMER!! ☀❤
