Can you believe it’s already been 3 YEARS since my first baby came into the world?!? It is absolutely wild for me to think that I officially became an author only three short years ago, with the release of my first book, Blooming. These past three years have certainly been life-changing and jam-packed! Let’s take a look back at these three years of Blooming, chat about how I’m celebrating, and look ahead at what’s next.
Blooming was first released in 2023, with a multi-city book launch in Kelowna, Vancouver, and Toronto. She was buzzin’ right from the beginning, and got a lot of attention in the press (you can browse press features here). At the end of 2023, I already hit a huge milestone as an author: becoming an award-winner! Blooming was announced as the Poetry winner for the Canadian Book Club Awards, and also named a finalist in the Indie Book Club Awards shortly after. The first year truly was astounding!! 🤩
The momentum continued to build for the second year. We had a ton of book signings and events in the Okanagan in 2024, and then in Toronto in 2025. When my second book was released in early 2025, Blooming continued to come along for the ride. She’s been there at every book signing since and continues to have a big impact! In 2025 alone, we had 10 book signings – and to date, we’ve had 7 in 2026 so far.
Throughout this third year, from mid-2025 until now, she has continued to grow and inspire readers. I’ve had to order multiple new copies as she keeps selling out! We’ve sold hundreds of copies and made countless connections these past few years. Blooming is currently in stock at 5 different bookstore locations across the country (check here for the full list). She is definitely a fan favourite, and I am so grateful for the impact she continues to have on readers. ✨
I am beyond grateful for every person who has connected with Blooming over these past three years. It truly means the world to me!! I am celebrating these 3 years with a few friends soon – with fun drinks, desserts, and florals a-plenty. 🌸
Now what’s next? We’ll be continuing our busy 2026 with quite a few book signings over the summer season, from now until early September. The full schedule will be dropping soon, so keep an eye out! I’ll always have copies of Blooming at book signings, along with NMSC. I hope to see you at one of the upcoming events!
