Moving Forward: What Lies Ahead?

As the summer comes to a close, we all make adjustments and begin to change along with the seasons. The transition is a little different for me this time around. Usually, I would be preparing for another school year at the start of September; however, that is not the case this year. As you may have read in one of my previous posts, I have decided to make some big changes moving forward due to the life-changing experience of my trip in May.

As I am enrolled in the co-op program at my university, I wanted to obtain a co-op position for the fall semester. I am very honoured to have accepted a position representing UBC as a Student Recruiter. The most exciting aspect of this position is the location: it is a position based in Toronto and surrounding cities, which means… I will be moving across the country to Toronto in September! I will have the opportunity to travel to many schools in the GTA and surrounding areas. I have never actually been to Ontario before, so I am very excited to explore it! You can expect many blog posts about my Canadian Adventures to come. You can keep tabs on me through the blog and Instagram by using the hashtag #chiaratakestoronto 🙂 I have a very good feeling that this is going to be an incredible experience and I will have tons of content coming your way until the end of my co-op term in December.

I have made another big life change due to my trip experience. As mentioned in my previous post, I have been struggling for the past year with my place in Kelowna. After the trip, I finally came to the realization that it would be in my best interest to leave Kelowna. I decided to transfer schools and was very fortunate to be accepted to UBC Vancouver, where I will be attending in January 2018! This is a very big deal for me and I am so fortunate that the transfer worked out much better than I originally anticipated. I am very excited for what the future will hold for me at UBC and I cannot wait to see where it takes me. That being said, I will also have the chance to explore another new city and call it home, while hopefully visiting areas around Vancouver as well! This all means that I will have tons of content for the blog, so you can expect many posts about adjusting to a new school and new city, along with more documentation of my adventures, to come.

Thank you to all of you who have supported the journey of chiaragoesglobal so far. I am very excited for what the future holds for the blog and I hope you all continue on this journey with me!
