Celebrating Calgary, 22, and 50 Posts!

Happy almost-December, everyone! In my last post, I talked about my most recent trip to Toronto and how I had spent the weeks after that trip recovering. After some much needed rest, I was setting off on another quick trip to Calgary, and a few days after I returned to Vancouver, I celebrated turning 22!

I was only in Calgary for a few days, and it just happened to snow the day after I arrived. I visited the Heritage Park Historical Village that morning, and it was truly magical to see this quaint village with a dusting of snow. Vancouver doesn’t get much snow, so it was the first snowfall of the season for me – and I think that is enough for the season! 😀 I am not the biggest fan of the snow, but it was nice to enjoy it for a little while.

After exploring the Village for a bit, I also had the opportunity to enjoy a bit of downtown Calgary. It’s always a treat to visit Calgary in the winter before Christmas, because they have tons of lights everywhere and truly get in to the spirit. Even though I was freezing strolling around in the snow, it was still wonderful to explore and soak everything in (literally). Downtown Calgary has its many charms, including boutique stores, restaurants, and more. They even have their own tower, which I have to say still doesn’t compare to the CN Tower, but it’s still something! Capturing it in the afternoon sunlight, after the snow had passed, was spectacular.

I returned back to Vancouver just in time to celebrate my birthday, a first for me in this city. It was nice to spend some time in what has become my new home base, celebrating with friends. I’m looking forward to another busy year ahead! And speaking of celebrating… there is a bit of extra celebrating today, because this is my 50th post on chiaragoesglobal! It is crazy for me to look back at how far the blog and myself have come in the past two and a half years. For a nice throwback, you can check out my very first post I wrote on the blog here, discussing some of my travels in the Czech Republic.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to go on many more adventures since then, and I want to take this time to thank all of you for joining me on the journey. I am looking forward to many more adventures to come, and I hope you will continue to join me as I stumble along the way. For now, you can keep tabs with me on Instagram, and as always – thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support. <3
