Winter Wonder in Vancouver

Apart from travelling on a few different trips the past couple of months, working, and focusing on school work, I’ve also still had the opportunity to continue to explore Vancouver – which is particularly exciting this month, since this is my first year spending some of the holiday season in Vancouver! It’s pretty crazy to think that this time last year, I was in Toronto. I’m very lucky to be able to explore new cities every year.

This past month in Vancouver, I’ve had the chance to check out some incredible light displays, which is one of my favourite things to do to get in the Christmas spirit. Recently, I visited Lafarge Lake to check out their light display. They have lights surrounding the entire lake that you can walk around and explore, and the best part is, it’s completely free!

I also recently visited the Vancouver Christmas Market with a friend, which was a first for me. It does cost money to enter the market and you have to pay for food and drinks once you are inside, so it can be a bit pricey, but it was still a great experience. It’s one of those experiences that really starts to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Canada Place also has a great display in downtown Vancouver, with a row of trees sponsored by different businesses that are each uniquely decorated. It’s another free activity that is pretty neat to check out for the holiday season.

It has also dawned on me recently that I have been living in Vancouver for almost a year now, which is pretty crazy to me! It has been a bit of a bumpy ride, but I am grateful that Vancouver now feels like home.

I’ll be staying in the Okanagan for the rest of the holidays before heading back to Vancouver to ring in 2019, and during that time, you can check out all of the details on Instagram. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and enjoys their holidays, and hopefully you all have the chance to relax a bit! I know I’ll be doing my best to do so as well 🙂
